Set the fuel assumptions
The method, not a mystery.
Usable fuel is current fuel minus the entered reserve, with a minimum of zero. Range uses the same consumption for the entire drive. Minimum refills assume you can refill to capacity exactly when needed; real stations may not fit this model.
Metric range = max(current fuel − reserve, 0) ÷ litres per 100 km × 100. US range = usable US gallons × MPG. Full-tank planning range leaves the same reserve. Before you go
Will it show where to refuel?
No. It does not have station locations, opening hours or live fuel availability. Check actual refuelling options separately.
Why keep a reserve?
A reserve is an entered planning assumption, not an endorsement that the remaining range is safe. Refuel earlier when conditions or availability are uncertain.
Are refills counted at departure?
If entered departure fuel is at or below the reserve, the model can count an immediate refill as part of the minimum. Real trip planning may require more stops.
