Two routes. A clearer trade-off.

Time-adjusted cost is a personal planning score, not money you will necessarily pay. Enter researched driving times; this tool never recommends driving faster or ignoring road conditions.

The method, not a mystery.

Each route cash cost is estimated fuel plus entered tolls. Time-adjusted cost adds driving hours × your entered value of time. The break-even hourly value is reported only when the toll route saves time; if it is also cheaper, there is no positive premium to recover.

Cash = fuel + tolls. Time-adjusted cost = cash + driving minutes ÷ 60 × value of time. Break-even = additional toll-route cash cost ÷ hours saved.

Before you go

Is the value of time a real charge?

No. It expresses how you personally value a saved hour. Set it to zero to compare fuel and toll cash costs only.

Does this include every route cost?

No. Parking, accommodation, route risk, vehicle wear and other factors are outside this comparison unless reflected in your own decision.

Where do toll prices come from?

You enter them. Check the relevant operator for vehicle class, payment method and current rates.
